As I ponder...

the fact that the Red Sox have won the pennant (is that the correct term?) (a sure sign of the end of days) and the fact that we have a group of religious nutbags (I use that term purely in the technical sense) running the country, I sometimes think it would be very entertaining when we all die to find out that they were wrong and there is no Judeo-Christian god, and that I was wrong and there were gods. What would be entertaining is if we died and found out that actually the Zoroastrians had been right all along. Wouldn't that be amusing?

See, I was worrying a little while ago that the success of the Red Sox was a sign of the end times, and, whether true or not, it would convince even doubters that the end was upon us and thus make them more likely to vote for Bush, because he's into that sort of thing.

Scary thought.

I hadn't thought about that, but I do see your point. This could lead to alarming results on teusday. An entire crowd of voters will vote for him because that end-of-days thing is Bush's bag. An entire other group will vote for him because, given that the end is coming, it won't matter and wouldn't it be funny if he actually won a presidential election. It all just gets worse from there.
